A year in review

Well, it is 2014. I am not really sure how that happened (where did this year go?) but here I am at the start of my third year of living in Switzerland.

2013 was a full year – it was full of work, French, travels, rich friendships, happiness, challenges and gratitude. So here it is a – a year in review:

  • Two half marathons (Paris, and Geneva), a team triathlon, and a 10km race in Lausanne plus many hours of running, bootcamp, and swimming
  • Hours spent skiing in the gorgeous mountains
  • Trips to Paris, South Africa (x2!), Houston, Zermatt, Gruyeres, Basel, Padova, Münster, the UK, Estonia, Stockholm, Barcelona
  • A growing family – a wedding and two new precious nieces!
  • A visit from one of my sisters and some of her friends
  • Sharing my life with the most dear friends here who generously offer love, understanding, wisdom and companionship
  • Many hours of hard work – conference presentations, writing articles, coordinating and attending seminars, some teaching, data collection, statistics courses and attending and organizing conferences
  • Wonderful church life! From connect group, to volunteering, to conferences to Sunday services – C3 is a blessing to me!
  • Salsa dancing!
  • Montreux Jazz Festival
  • My first Christmas in Switzerland (and the first away from family!)

I already know that 2014 is going to be another full year (but this is how I like my life, so why I am surprised?) and I am excited for all the possibilities it holds.

My verse for 2014 is Isaiah 26:13, “You will keep in perfect peace all who trust in you, all whose thoughts are fixed on you”. For all that lies ahead, I know He has it in His hands!
